Ferran Torres’ rise at Barcelona has been nothing short of inspirational, especially given how he was initially considered a backup winger and how he has only gone on to make himself a bona fide starter in a different position – at centre-forward.

The big transition came at the beginning of the ongoing season when Hansi Flick made it clear that he valued Torres’ services at an equal level to that of Robert Lewandowski, and the player has not let the manager down.

Needless to say, however, the promotion was more than deserved and came off a great second half of the 2024-25 season where Torres starred for Barcelona across all competitions.

A special 2025

The numbers only back the ‘Shark’ and his wonderful for last season, both for club and country.

The former Valencia man scored a stunning 27 goals for Barcelona in 2025, of which 18 came in La Liga, six in the Copa del Rey and three in the UEFA Champions League. He was the top scorer in the Cup competition last season.

His tally, moreover, makes him the highest-scoring Spanish player in 2025 across Europe’s top leagues. Samu Omorodion, on 23 goals, and Lamine Yamal, at 21, are the closest competitors, and the rest of the competition is further behind.

Torres’ stunning form in front of goal has also brought him into Barcelona’s top-50 goalscorers of all time. He already has 57 goals since signing for the club and is 46th on the aforementioned list, two goals behind Johann Cruyff and three behind Raphinha.

His numbers for the national team are equally impressive, for he entered Spain’s top-10 goalscorers of all time in 2025 and is in ninth place with 23 goals for the team.

Heading into 2026, the striker will look to maintain the same run of form, especially given how trophies will now be on the line more evidently. With the FIFA World Cup just around the corner, moreover, he will be desperate to maintain his fine form.
