He is not satisfied with merely excellent fitness.
The hard work does not stop. Bayern Munich footballer Konrad Laimer is well known for his incredible and logic defying stamina. It is one of his key strengths that allows him to flourish so well in head coach Vincent Kompany’s system, pressing hard as well as make several key runs to unsettle the opposition backline. But no strength cannot be improved.
The Austrian international is fully aware of this, which is why one of his goals for the new year is to keep improving his fitness.
“The most important thing as a footballer is to be healthy and take care of your body, to always be ready to train and improve,” Laimer said, as captured by @iMiaSanMia. “I want to take the next steps; there’s still plenty of time and room to improve. That’s exactly the mindset I’m going into next year with.”
Laimer does, after all, turn 29 at the end of the 2025/26 season. Before he knows it, he will be on the wrong side of 30. So if Laimer wishes to retain his awesome athleticism into his 30s, he will need to demonstrate this exact attitude on a regular basis.
