Liverpool initiate contact to sign special winger

Semenyo or no Semenyo, Liverpool are going to have to bring in a winger. Especially, when you're looking at the state of play as well.

Mo Salah's future hangs in the balance. Cody Gakpo has frustrated many people recently with his performances. Federico Chiesa will likely leave and probably doesn't have a long-term future at Anfield.

So, you pretty much are left with Rio Ngumoha as the only other natural winger in the squad. For a team hoping to compete for the highest honours, that is simply not good enough.

Hughes is clearly working on addressing the issue and it seems like he might be using his Italian connections in order to do it.

A report from Tuttosport in Italy claims that the club's sporting director has been initiating contact and making calls about Kenan Yildiz in recent weeks.

Juventus are trying to hold him down to a new contract and are accelerating their plans to do so. But the report claims Liverpool and Arsenal have been making advances in order to thwart the Italian giants' attempts to retain their star player.

Yildiz is a special talent. He's probably one of the best one vs one wingers in Europe right now. At Juventus he is their star player and he's going to cost a lot of money.

But the Turkish international would make a lot of sense for Liverpool. He's extremely young at just 20-years-old. There's a really bright future ahead of him.

Already, he's making an impact at one of the biggest clubs in the world and he's catching the eye in the Champions League as well.

If there's any truth to Liverpool initiating that contact, and if there's even a hair's breadth of a chance of getting him, Hughes shoud be all over it.
