Claude Puel has replaced Franck Haise as manager of OGC Nice, the club have confirmed. The former Leicester City manager returns to Nice, signing a deal that runs until the end of the season.
Haise has twice almost left Nice in recent weeks, but this time his exit is confirmed. After the defeat against Olympique de Marseille, he offered to be the “shock to the system”, whilst after the fan attack on the club’s team bus at the end of November, he also verged on departing his role.
He ultimately remained, but there were changes in the hierarchy, with Jean-Pierre Rivere returning to replace Fabrice Bocquet as president. However, Nice have now confirmed that Haise has left the club after coming to a mutual agreement to terminate his deal.
He is replaced by Puel, who managed the club between 2012 and 2016. He has not managed since leaving AS Saint-Étienne in May 2021. Julien Sablé joins him as an assistant.
