What will the Giants do in the 2026 NFL Draft?
The Giants have plenty of needs entering the 2026 NFL Draft, as they build around quarterback Jaxson Dart in his second season and beyond.
So what might they do with the second overall pick?
That is where they are slotted — with one week left in the regular season — after Sunday’s win in Las Vegas.
The Giants would’ve clinched the top pick with a loss to the Raiders. But it didn’t happen because the Raiders are by far the NFL’s worst team as the Giants rolled to a 34-10 road win.
The Raiders need a quarterback. The Giants do not. So if they land at No. 2 (with the Raiders at No. 1), they surely will still get their top target.
Of course, the Giants clinching the top spot would’ve opened the door to a lucrative trade-down deal with a quarterback-needy team (like the Jets).
The Giants can still get the top pick, but they need to lose to Dallas in Week 18 and have the Raiders beat the Chiefs (who are down to Chris Oladokun as their starting quarterback). So while it’s possible for the Giants to secure the top pick, it’s not likely given these circumstances.
Let’s take a look at some potential draft targets for the Giants at No. 2. The Giants also could take any of these players at No. 1, barring a trade-down move from that spot — or the shocking selection of a quarterback like Fernando Mendoza, who probably now will land in Las Vegas.
(All prospect rankings are via Pro Football Focus.)
• WR Jordyn Tyson, Arizona State (No. 7 overall, No. 1 at position): The Giants need to give Dart more help. And Darius Slayton clearly isn’t the long-term No. 2 outside receiver answer at the spot opposite Malik Nabers. Tyson is a big-bodied threat (6-foot-2, 200 pounds) who had 711 yards and eight touchdowns in nine games this season.
• WR Carnell Tate, Ohio State (No. 9 overall, No. 2 at position): He brings similar size (6-foot-3, 195 pounds) to Tyson. While sophomore Jeremiah Smith starred as Ohio State’s top target this season, Tate was no slouch (838 yards and nine touchdowns).
• WR Makai Lemon, USC (No. 12 overall, No. 3 at position): He is a little smaller than Tyson and Tate, at 5-foot-11 and 195 pounds, but Lemon delivered dominant production in 2025, with 1,156 yards and 11 touchdowns. Hard to overlook that.
• CB Jermod McCoy, Tennessee (No. 13 overall, No. 1 at position): Paulson Adebo has underwhelmed as a big-money free agent addition. Cor’Dale Flott (who did have a strong season) is a pending free agent (who the Giants absolutely should re-sign). The Giants whiffed on Deonte Banks at No. 24 in 2023. Would they have better luck with McCoy much higher in the 2026 draft? He had four picks in 2024, but missed the entire 2025 season with a knee injury. Still, he is a highly regarded prospect.
• CB Mansoor Delane, LSU (No. 15 overall, No. 2 at position): While McCoy sat out all of 2025, Delane thrived, with two picks and 11 pass breakups in his first season at LSU, after transferring from Virginia Tech. In Blacksburg, he had four picks in 2024.
• OT Spencer Fano, Utah (No. 19 overall, No. 1 at position): The Giants are set at left tackle, with Andrew Thomas. But their right tackle, Jermaine Eluemunor, is a pending free agent who just turned 31. Through two seasons with the Giants, he has performed solidly as a pass blocker, while struggling with run blocking. If the Giants want to go younger at right tackle — four years after badly missing on Evan Neal at No. 7 — Fano could be an option. He played on the right side in 2024 and 2025, after playing left tackle in 2023.
• CB Avieon Terrell, Clemson (No. 20 overall, No. 3 at position): A bit of a smaller corner option (5-foot-11, 180 pounds), though he delivered nice production from 2024-25, with 21 total pass breakups.
• OT Francis Mauigoa, Miami (No. 21 overall, No. 2 at position): He exclusively played right tackle from 2023-25, so that spot would not be an adjustment for him.
