FC Bayern might not make any moves in January.
According to a report from Fabrizio Romano (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany does not want to make changes to the squad in January.
One player whose name has been bandied about in transfer rumors all week is midfielder Leon Goretzka, but Kompany is not ready to make any moves per Romano:
Leon Goretzka has been offered to several clubs through intermediaries ahead of the upcoming transfer window. However as things stand, Bayern are very happy with the squad and would like to keep it together for the rest of the season – so they’re not particularly keen to let Goretzka go in January. Vincent Kompany does not want changes on the squad mid-season, given that things are working well so far.
It is hard to argue with Kompany. The team is extremely talented, deep, balanced, and easy to manage because the depth numbers are not overwhelming where players are voicing unhappiness.
In a nutshell, Kompany is echoing the old adage, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”
