Seahawks wide receiver depth in trouble versus the Panthers.
The Seattle Seahawks’ wide receiver room took suffered another blow in their battle to stay atop in the NFC against the Carolina Panthers.
Their special teams star Rashid Shaheed was ruled out with a concussion after leaving the field late in the first quarter. Shaheed was hit out of bounds by former Seahawks cornerback Mike Jackson on a punt return.
After losing Cody White earlier in the game, the Seahawks are down to just Jake Bobo and Dareke Young behind their two starting wideouts, Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Cooper Kupp. In addition to stepping up in the reciving game, Bobo and Young will have to handle the primary load of special teams snaps, including punt and kick returns.
Shaheed was a revelation for the Seahawk’s special teams and helped ignite Seattle’s comeback against the Los Angles Rams last week. He was beginning to find his way as a reliable No. 2 option in the passing game for quarterback Sam Darnold before the injury.
