The 2026 TGL season will actually start in 2025, on Sunday, Dec. 28 live on network TV and streaming.
TGL's debut season a year ago saw matches on Monday and Tuesday nights. In 2026, TGL will also be on a Friday and a Sunday. In fact the 2026 season will start in 2025, on Sunday, Dec. 28 live on network TV.
The virtual golf league backed by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy helps fill the golf viewing void early in the weeks during the season, with concludes in March. In 2026, in particular it'll help scratch the golf itch for fans, who won't get a Sentry tournament in Maui to ogle at.
By putting the season opener on Dec. 28, the TGL has found perhaps a spot that works. Yes, there's still two NFL games on at the same time (one on CBS, the other on Fox) but there are no college football bowl games that day. If nothing else, the TGL opener is a solid second-screen option.
How to watch the TGL 2026 season opener
The TGL season opener for 2026 features a rematch of last year's final between the Atlanta Drive and New York Golf Club. All TGL matches are held at the SoFi Center on the campus of Palm Beach State College in Palm Beach, Florida.
The match will be live at 3 p.m. ET on ABC and ESPN+.
What's new for fans watching TGL on TV in 2026?
TGL has new Virtual Eye shot-comparison graphics. There will also be live ball-tracking before all shots hit the huge screen as well as augmented-reality overlays which will compare shots to team averages and historical bests.
The massive SoFi Center now has 79 cameras including new reverse angle and overhead shots to better showcase the action from various perspectives.
