The Badgers have their eyes on a transfer running back.
The Wisconsin Badgers are getting busy in the transfer portal as they continue to evaluate targets ahead of the portal opening date on January 2nd.
There have been a number of key transfers out of the program, which could lead to a huge transfer portal class. The team does have a bunch of needs, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see them target a number of positions in the portal.
Among them could be running back, as the Badgers are losing redshirt freshman Dilin Jones to the transfer portal, he announced this past week. He joins Cade Yacamelli as the transfers out of the room, so Wisconsin currently has just Darrion Dupree, Gideon Ituka, and 2026 signee Qwantavius Wiggins as the lone scholarship players at the position.
That could change soon, as On3’s Pete Nakos reported Wisconsin as the early team to watch for USC transfer running back Bryan Jackson.
A sophomore in 2025, Jackson rushed for 123 yards and four touchdowns, while rushing for 3.4 yards per carry. That followed a freshman year where the running back had 188 yards and a touchdown.
Jackson could be a more veteran reserve for the Badgers in a crowded running back room, giving the team some needed experience.
But, it’s clear Wisconsin has its eyes on him heading into the transfer portal opening.
