Tyree Adams, DJ Chester Entering Transfer Portal

Last one out hit the lights

Hello friends, it’s Zach here writing this little dilly from my phone because Apple still has had my MacBook since Monday. And that’s really inconvenient for me personally because news is coming in regarding the 2026 LSU football team so I’m having to pivot here.

You probably won’t believe this, but LSU’s had some more players enter the transfer portal. When I last talked with you, the reader, it was about Colin Hurley and Carius Curne putting their names into the portal. A few days ago we saw Coen Echols put his name into the portal and now two more Tiger o-linemen have put their names in.

Yesterday DJ Chester put his name in and now hours before LSU takes the field for tonight’s Texas Bowl, Tyree Adams has announced his intention to do the same. As always: players can pull their names out of the portal if they so choose.

Chester has played just about every position along offensive line in his time with LSU. He earned Freshman All-SEC honors last year while starting all 13 games for the Tigers and this year he played center and left tackle as LSU’s first man off the bench.

Adams had the unenviable task of having to replace Will Campbell, and did okay. He started all eight games he was available for but missed time with an ankle injury.

If you’re keeping count, that’s now four Tiger offensive linemen to put their name into the portal. More troubling, it’s four offensive linemen who saw significant playing time this year. That being said, LSU’s offensive line was the weak point on this hear’s team so is losing the bulk of that unit all that bad? Like with all things, the truth is somewhere in the middle.

Lane Kiffin is the quote/unquote portal king, and he’ll need to prove it once the portal opens on January 2 because LSU’s going to have to add multiple quarterbacks, running backs, and now offensive linemen. It’s a tall task but like Don Draper said “that’s what the money’s for.”
