Former Bradley basketball player signs with professional team in Europe

Former Bradley wing Christian Davis has opted to turn pro, signing with a team in Finland for the 2025-26 season.

Former Bradley basketball player Christian Davis has started the next chapter of his career.

The 6-foot-7, 210-pound Davis has signed a one-year contract with Finland pro team Kauhajoki Karhubasket, and he'll make his pro debut in the Finnish league in 2025-26.

Davis had appealed to the NCAA for a waiver to grant an additional year of eligibility, but that effort failed. He opted to turn pro.

Karhubasket head coach Janne Koskimies said the team was looking for wing with strong rebounding and shooting, and someone who could also move to the front court, if needed.

"Christian is an efficient and smart team player who does not force his own decisions," Koskimies said in a release. "He has been a trusted player on his university team, and I believe that the transition to European basketball will be successful quickly."

Bradley’s Christian Davis (5) dribbles up the court against Missouri State’s Makhai Valentine in the second half of their MVC basketball game Saturday, Jan. 4, 2025 at Carver Arena. The Braves defeated the Bears 69-60.

Davis is expected to arrive in Kauhajoki in August and join the team's training camp as soon as he arrives in the city.

The team went 22-10 in the 2024-25 season and swept through the first two rounds of the playoffs to reach the league championship series, where it lost to Helsinki.

Davis was a Bradley starter and top defensive player as a wing on a team that appeared in the NIT for a third straight season and reached the tournament quarterfinals. He averaged 10 points and 5.2 rebounds while blocking 30 shots and recording 36 steals and shooting 44% from 3-point distance in 37 games.

He was MVP of Bradley's Myrtle Beach Invitational title in November, and later in the season reached 1,000 points for his collegiate career. Davis played 95 games in three seasons at Bradley.

Duke Deen set in Europe

Bradley star point guard Duke Deen initially signed with the Frankfurt Skyliners in Germany when he decided to turn pro last April. He never joined them, however. Last week, Deen dropped a social media note saying he has signed with the Bakken Bears in Denmark.
