“Excellent hire.” “Great man. Total adult. No BS.” “Proven winner.” The national media really likes Michigan Football hiring head coach Kyle Whittingham:

Announced on Friday night, Michigan has hired Kyle Whittingham to be the football program’s next head coach. The longtime Utah head coach is a proven leader that wins more often than not (only three losing seasons in 21 years in Salt Lake City).

Now that things are official, the national media has begun to chime in on the hire.

Starting with FOX color analyst Joel Klatt, who has been a big fan of Whittingham’s for a long time

ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit is also a fan of the hire for Michigan

FOX’s Colin Cowherd calls Whittingham a “great man” and a “total adult,” two things Michigan did not have in its last head coach
