It was a special year for women's amateur golfers.

When it came to selecting Golfweek's Female Amateur of the Year, there were plenty of candidates to choose from, but one stood out among the rest. This player was among the most consistent in the entire world and even won a professional event as an amateur.

Winner: Lottie Woad

Lottie Woad of England walks on the sixth hole during the final round of the Augusta National Women's Amateur at Augusta National Golf Club on April 05, 2025 in Augusta, Georgia.

Lottie Woad just completed an incredible run as an amateur, dating to last year's Augusta National Women's Amateur. This year, she maintained her spot at No. 1 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking, won the Women's Irish Open as an amateur then finished third at the Amundi Evian Championship, earning her LPGA card in the process and turning pro the next week. And of course, she won in her pro debut.

Honorable mention: Paula Martin Sampedro

Paula Martin Sampedro of Spain holds the trophy following her victory during the Final on Day Six of the R&A Women's Amateur Championship at Nairn Golf Club on June 15, 2025 in Nairn, Scotland.

Paula Martin Sampedro, ranked second, had a stellar summer in Europe, winning the Women's Amateur Championship and the European Ladies Amateur. She's also a standout for top-ranked Stanford.
