Leo Castledine can’t stop scoring for Huddersfield Town

Scoring for fun in League One!

Having already made his senior debut for Chelsea a couple years ago, and spent last season on loan at Shrewsbury Town in League One, it seemed like another third division loan might be a waste of time for young Leo Castledine.

But the 20-year-old winger is certainly making the most of his time back at that level, this time with Huddersfield Town. He scored the first and last goals in the Terriers’ 5-0 beatdown of bottom-side Port Vale earlier today, giving him nine league goals already this season, eleven in all competitions. And it’s been going great particularly of late, with seven goals in his last seven appearances — including this free-kick gem last week. He now has as many goals as Huddersfield’s next two leading scorers combined!

Castledine’s output has helped make Huddersfield the division’s top scorers so far this season, though they currently sit just seventh, one below the playoff spots, as their defense hasn’t been great. But if Leo can continue pouring them in, they might just have a chance to earning promotion.
