What’s the biggest offseason need for the Cincinnati Bengals?

Three years without a playoff appearance, what needs to happen?

Expectations were high going into the 2025 season for the Bengals, and it is safe to say it has been a disastrous year of football in Cincinnati.

The Bengals will now miss the playoffs for the third straight season and will finish the year with double-digit losses for the first time since 2020, Burrow’s rookie season.

With another critical offseason approaching to right the ship, there is so much work that needs to be done for a roster that has simply not executed when given the opportunity.

Cincinnati is in great cap shape and will be able to spend and bring in some much-needed reinforcements, but the question is: Will they?

The Bengals offense will largely return, assuming the front office keeps Dalton Risner around for another year after a stellar season in Cincinnati.

With that, all eyes then turn to the defense that has been historically bad this season, despite a few weeks of above-average play.

With that being said, the big question is simple: What is the biggest offseason need for the Bengals?

This team desperately needs more pass rush, a veteran linebacker (or two), a halfway decent safety (like a Jessie Bates), and more interior defensive line push.

The Bengals simply need more game-changers on the defensive side of the football.
