🔴Flash: Marc Brys denies resigning as Cameroon head coach

The Belgian manager denounces a hacking of his email and reaffirms his commitment at the helm of the Indomitable Lions.

Marc Brys categorically and publicly denies his resignation as Cameroon head coach. In an official letter sent to the Ministry of Sports, the Belgian tactician refutes any voluntary step down from his position and reveals that his email account was compromised.

A few hours ago, several media outlets circulated a letter attributed to the Belgian coach announcing his departure."In accordance with the provisions of Article VII, paragraph 4 of the contract signed on April 8, 2024, between the State of Cameroon, represented by your authority, and myself as Head Coach of the Indomitable Lions, I hereby notify you of my decision to unilaterally terminate said contract for valid cause, due to the non-payment of my salary and that of my staff for more than 60 days," stated the now infamous letter dated July 21, 2025, allegedly authored by Marc Brys.

Based on this letter, the Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT) officially announced this Wednesday, July 23, the departure of the Belgian coach from the Indomitable Lions' bench.

In response, Marc Brys moved quickly to quash rumors of his resignation as Cameroon national team coach. The Belgian manager sent a formal letter to Cameroonian sports authorities in which he denied any intention of stepping down. According to him, a fake document had been circulated through his personal email or social media, creating the false impression of a resignation. He points to a likely cyberattack.
