Xabi Alonso is nearing the halfway point of his debut campaign at Real Madrid, and the opening months have helped clarify both the squad’s strengths and the areas that need attention. One position drawing particular focus is midfield, where the club is believed to be weighing a high-profile addition: PSG star Vitinha.
Pulling off such a move would be far from simple. PSG leaned heavily on the trio of Vitinha, Fabian Ruiz, and João Neves during a remarkable 2024–25 season that ended with Ligue 1, the UEFA Champions League, and the Coupe de France titles.
Even so, Madrid’s financial muscle could put that core to the test. A strong proposal might force PSG to at least consider talks, including conversations with the player about whether leaving Paris makes sense.

A previous report from Fichajes indicated that Real Madrid are lining up an aggressive approach, with plans to submit a €150 million offer for Vitinha. Alonso has made it clear that the team wants a midfielder capable of controlling matches through creativity, calm decision-making, and vision on the ball.
Those qualities are why Vitinha is viewed as an ideal fit, with the move tentatively targeted for the summer of 2026 if the strategy stays on course. Moreover, Real Madrid might be receiving good news regarding their interest in Vitinha.

Despite being tied to PSG until 2029, Vitinha wouldn’t rule out a future move to Spain during an interview with O Jogo.
“La Liga is fantastic and suits my style of play better,” Vitinha said (h/t Le10Sport). “I would like to play there one day. But it’s difficult to set goals. You have to take things step by step.”
“I’ve already played in the Premier League, but at Wolverhampton I didn’t get as much playing time as I would have liked, especially during the Covid period, which prevented me from fully enjoying the atmosphere in the stadiums.”
