Second division leaders Schalke are reportedly set to sign Maximilianm Lüftl as head of scouting and transfers.
Kicker sports magazine said on Thursday that Lüftl is to arrive from league rivals Hanover where he has a contract until the end of the season. He takes over from Ben Manga with whom Schalke parted ways three months ago.
It is not clear whether Lüftl will complete his contract in Hanover as the club signed Jörg Schmadtke earlier this week as managing director for sport. This could open the door for Lüftl to leave earlier for Schalke.
Schalke are top of the second division and hope for a return into the Bundesliga after three years.
