KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Chiefs announced another roster update on Wednesday, with more key players on both sides of the ball set to be shut down for the remainder of the season.
Wednesday’s update showed that cornerback Trent McDuffie, wide receiver Rashee Rice, wide receiver Tyquan Thornton and cornerback Jaylen Watson were all placed on the injured reserve list. The move ends their 2025 season, as they’re required to spend at least four weeks on the list, and just two games remain.
Additionally, the Chiefs shared that practice squad players defensive end Ethan Downs, cornerback Melvin Smith and tight end Tyreke Smith were signed to active roster contracts. Cornerback Nazeeh Johnson was activated off the injured list as well.
Now, the practice squad players will fill in the gaps on Thursday’s Christmas Day game against the Denver Broncos. Kickoff is set for 7:15 p.m.
A similar move was announced last week, with other key players being shut down for the rest of the year, and practice squad players brought up to take their place. The Chiefs would get pummelled by the Tennessee Titans 9-26 following that update.
The Chiefs’ injury report on Wednesday also showed that offensive tackle Jaylon Moore, defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi, wide receiver Nikko Remigio, defensive end George Karlaftis and linebacker Nick Bolton are all questionable for Thursday’s game.
