Bells will be STINGING
As most of us wind down at work with the holidays approaching, the NFL season is cranking up in anticipation of playoff time. Here we will break down an action-packed Week 16, but only from an LSU alumni perspective.
Rams 37 at Seahawks 38 (OT)
Omar Speights led the Rams with seven tackles and Anthony Bradford blocked.
NFLSU Score: 4/10
Eagles 29 at Commanders18
Do not care, sadly.
NFLSU Score: 0/10
Packers 16 at Bears 22 (OT)
One of the most thrilling and critical games of the season… but we also unfortunately do not care!
NFLSU Score: 0/10
Jets 6 at Saints 29
Foster Moreau caught one pass for five yards, but a Mason Taylor injury robbed us of an incredibly rare LSU Tight End Bowl. Davon Godchaux had two tackles.
NFLSU Score: 3/10
Bills 23 at Browns 20
Grant Delpit and Tre’Davious White each had four tackles, while the latter also had a pass breakup. Reid Ferguson long snapped.
NFLSU Score: 6/10
Chiefs 9 at Titans 26
Kristian Fulton was tied for a game-high 10 tackles against the team that drafted him. That’s also the most he’s had in a game in his six-year career. Arden Key had one tackle and Lloyd Cushenberry long snapped.
NFLSU Score: 4/10
Chargers 34 at Cowboys 17
Austin Deculus blocked. Donte Jackson played but left with a groin injury.
NFLSU Score: 3/10
Vikings 16 at Giants 13
Despite a disgusting offensive game, Justin Jefferson was steady with 85 yards on six catches. Jay Ward had a career-high six tackles and Cor’Dale Flott had a pass breakup.
NFLSU Score: 6/10
Buccaneers 20 at Panthers 23
Damien Lewis blocked.
NFLSU Score: 2/10
Bengals 45 at Dolphins 21
While it probably didn’t cure all of the nihilism Joe Burrow has exhibited in recent weeks, absolutely shredding the Dolphins defense for a blowout win had to feel good.
Joe went 25/32 for 309 yards, four TDs and no INTs. Ja’Marr Chase did not get any of those TDs, but his nine catches and 109 yards were both game-highs.
Ja’Marr is also now five for five in being a Pro Bowler every year of his professional career.
It won’t fix any of their long-term issues, but it’s reassuring to see these guys have a game like this again. The upcoming offseason will be long. We will enjoy these highlights on a random day in May.
NFLSU Score: 8/10
Jaguars 34 at Broncos 20
Brian Thomas Jr. caught two passes for 18 yards. These Jags look like Super Bowl contenders all of a sudden.
NFLSU Score: 3/10
Falcons 26 at Cardinals 19
BJ Ojulari had two sacks, including his first sack since his 2023 rookie season.
NFLSU Score: 3/10
Raiders 21 at Texans 23
Derek Stingley Jr. did something Sunday that he never did at LSU… score a touchdown!
Stingley was also named to the Pro Bowl, the only other Tiger besides Chase to receive that honor.
You may have noticed Danielle Hunter getting pressure to force that pick-six. He had three tackles including a sack. Damone Clark had one tackle as well.
As good as Stingley is, I’ll say this one time: he isn’t perfect. You know who is capable of beating him? His former LSU teammate Jack Bech.
Bech caught two passes for 43 yards. In the least surprising news of this recap, Devin White led the game with 11 tackles. Jamal Adams had three. Not enough, Ed Ingram blocked! You know what? Yeah this gets a 10. I think this is the first one of this terrible season. We deserve at least one.
NFLSU Score: 10/10
Steelers 29 at Lions 24
Patrick Queen had seven tackles.
NFLSU Score: 3/10
Patriots 28 at Ravens 24
Kayshon Boutte only caught one pass, but it was a spectacular 16-yarder. K’Lavon Chaisson had three tackles, including forcing a game-sealing fumble.
Emery Jones played a handful of snaps.
NFLSU Score: 7/10
49ers 48 at Colts 27
