MM 12.24: Maryland volleyball alum Ajack Malual signs pro contract

Merry Christmas Eve! This is the Maryland Minute, a short story followed by a roundup of Terps-related news.

Falling short of all expectations and finishing dead last in the Big Ten, Maryland volleyball‘s season had few elements to look upon fondly. However, one of its brightest stars will leave College Park with a promising opportunity.

Senior opposite hitter Ajack Malual officially signed her first professional contract Tuesday, with CV JAV Olímpico in Spain.

Malual is originally from Rome and transferred from Tennessee prior to this season. She showed out in her final year of eligibility, leading Maryland with 457.5 points, 372 kills, and 39 service aces.

She also played best when it mattered most, delivering her season-high kills (21) and points (23.5) in a four-set win over Rutgers. This proved to be the only conference win of the season for the Terps
