You, the media…Yes, I’m talking to you! The same ones who for years, couldn’t stop crapping all over James Franklin every time Penn State lost to Ohio State or some other big-name opponent, only to do a total about-face once PSU finally decided to make a change and suddenly it was the most idiotic firing decision, ever. Pick a freaking lane and stay there!
Also, the Big Ten *still* hasn’t announced the dates for its 2026 football matchups, leaving in limbo fans who might be thinking about taking that trip to Happy Valley to see the new-look Nittany Lions in action at Beaver Stadium or who might want to enjoy a road trip out to Seattle to experience Husky Stadium. No rush there fellas, we’re only another 8.5 months from the start of next season!

There are some obvious grievances here. Bungling the football coaching search until the 11th hour. The men’s basketball program continuing to decay from the competitive 2017-2023 era into a lifeless shell of itself.
But the thing that irritates me more than it should is the ridiculous parking fees PSU is charging for the outdoor hockey game. Parking at the stadium will cost $100 per car, nearly twice what I paid for my ticket to the game. I get that Penn State has to finance a massive stadium renovation, but charging $100 for parking for a single hockey game crosses the line from fundraising to straight up grifting.

Hey playoff committee and those who create all the complicated rules of how to select the group of 12 teams – I’ve got a lot of problems with you! We finally get this incredible spectacle of a college football playoff, and what do we do with the first round? Ruin half of the games because of a rule that the top 5 conference championships must get a spot. That gave us a rematch of a Ole Miss-Tulane that the Rebels won 45-10 back in September, and almost had the same outcome.
Then there’s James Madison not being able to physically hang with an Oregon team that just had to show up and go through the motions to advance to round two. We could have enjoyed Vandy at Oregon and Notre Dame at Ole Miss, but nooooo, we can’t have nice things. How about we just take the top 16 teams, put them in a bracket and let them play?
And don’t even get me started with next year’s rule that hands Notre Dame a playoff spot if they are ranked in the top 12 – a seemingly virtual lock when you look at their incredibly weak 2026 schedule. Whoever made that a thing is getting challenged to a feats of strength.
