NWSL Championship Winner Ella Stevens signs with Boston Legacy FC

One of the top NWSL free agent wingers is off the board. Ella Stevens is headed to expansion side, Boston Legacy Football Club.

Today, Boston Legacy FC announced the signing of forward Ella Stevens to a two-year deal through 2027 with a mutual option to renew.

Stevens was one of the top wingers available in NWSL free agency.

In the 2020 NWSL Draft, she was selected 24th overall by the Chicago Stars, her home through the 2023 season before joining NJ/NY Gotham as a free agent in 2024. After winning the NWSL championship with the club, she is headed to a new adventure with the expansion club.

“It’s a blank slate. It’s a new challenge, the staff, the coach. I just think the energy is here, and I want to win,” said Stevens.

“Ella is a proven NWSL player whose best years are still ahead of her. She brings a strong team-first mindset and competitiveness that fits exactly with what we’re building in Boston,” said Boston Legacy general manager Domè Guasch. “She’ll make an impact on the field, but just as importantly, she elevates the people around her. Ella understands what it takes to win at the highest level, and that experience will be invaluable as we set high standards and look to be competitive from day one.”

In her NWSL career, she has earned 78 appearances and scored 15 goals.
