Avid Romanian soccer fan Mălina Maria Guler has died at age 27.
Guler made her name on social media with her dedication to sports and professional photography. She worked directly with teams like UTA Arad and Bihor Oradea Football Club to capture on-field moments. The latter organization confirmed the news of Guler's death with a Facebook post shared on Saturday, Dec. 20.
"The FC Bihor Oradea Club expresses its deep regret for the passing of Malina Maria Guler," an English translation of the announcement read. "Malina was with the club in the 2023–2024 season, a season in which FC Bihor Oradea gained promotion in the Second League, contributing through professionalism and dedication to capturing the moments and emotions of this sporting journey."

Further information about Guler's cause and manner of death have not yet been confirmed.
According to her bio on Instagram, where she boasted over 31,000 followers, she worked as a reporter and photographer with experience in technical support as well. Her page included a quote, "Your comfort zone will kill you."
She regularly posed for pictures with professional players and friends on her social media pages, and Guler also shared content of herself on the job. In a post shared on Sept. 24, Guler posted a video compilation of herself on the sidelines of the soccer pitch, holding a longer-lensed camera.

Following the news of Guler's death, a friend took to Instagram to share a black-and-white photo of the late photographer and honor her memory in his caption.
"I met Malina when I went with Poli to Oradea. She was a smiling girl, passionate about what she did, loving football," the friend wrote, as translated into English. "She always seemed cheerful, fulfilled, with a rewarding career... but behind a person you never know what she is."
