The decathlon world champion won the prestigious award in Baden Baden on Sunday and was then asked if he had anyone special in his life.
"This is a bit of a sensitive topic for me," he told ZDF television.
"I am travelling a lot and training hard. That's why there is not much free time. But it will happen at some point."
