The Young and the Restless: Inexperienced Bayern Munich bench takes part in 4-0 victory over Heidenheim

FC Bayern did what it needed to do!

Bayern Munich entered its 4-0 win over Heidenheim very banged up, very sick, and very young on the bench.

Such is life in the big leagues, as head coach Vincent Kompany had to scramble to put together a traveling squad that would be able to square off against a desperate Heidenheim team.

With Jamal Musiala (injured), Manuel Neuer (injured), Sacha Boey (ill), Konrad Laimer (suspended), Joshua Kimmich (ankle), Nicolas Jackson (international duty), Kim Min-jae (injured), Aleksandar Pavlović (ill), and Tom Bischof (ill) all unavailable, Kompany needed to get creative…so he did:

In the match, David Daiber and Cassiano Kiala made their respective Bundesliga debuts, while Wisdom Mike also made an appearance. Clearly, it was not ideal, but Kompany squeezed as much from this lineup as he could during the win — and got some of the kids some run along the way.

When it needed to circle the wagons, Bayern Munich was able to do exactly that and dig down deep for the victory to end the Hinrunde.
