It's a bit of a mystery, too.
Dawson Knox won't be ready for the start of Buffalo Bills training camp.
As for the reason? The Bills didn't make that clear.
All that's known for sure is that the tight end was placed on the non-football injury list Tuesday night, before Buffalo's first training camp practice Wednesday.
Knox is a crucial piece to the Buffalo puzzle.
The 28-year old tight end has made a Pro Bowl and has been a reliable target for Josh Allen ever since the Bills took him in the third round in 2019 out of Ole Miss.
In 2024, Knox played in 16 games and caught 22 passes for 311 yards and a touchdown.

Knox is no longer the top option in the passing game at tight end. That honor belongs to the younger, more athletic Dalton Kincaid.
But Knox is a strong leader and can still deliver in the clutch.
The Bills would much rather have Knox injured in July than December, so this is probably all good.
But Buffalo fans would love to get a positive update on Knox's reason for being absent, sooner rather than later.
