Josh Jacobs injury: What status means for Week 16 vs. Bears

PLAYERNAME is dealing with a INJURYNAME for Week XX. We break down what it means for fantasy football decisions.

The 9-4-1 Green Bay Packers head down to face the 10-4 Chicago Bears as 1.5-point favorites at Soldier Field Saturday evening. This is a huge game for both teams, as whoever wins has the inside lane for the NFC North title. But, both teams have injuries to some key players. The Bears will be without receivers Rome Odunze and Luther Burden, while De’Andre Swift is questionable. And the Packers could be without their star running back Josh Jacobs, as he is also officially questionable.

Josh Jacobs injury updates

Jacobs didn’t get in any practices this week due to knee and ankle issues. Jacobs has been dealing with this knee injury for a while now and missing practices because of it, but this is the first time he didn’t practice. He managed to get a questionable tag and if he’s up for it, he will play.

Last week Jacobs only got in a limited practice on Friday and ended up playing in Denver and finishing as RB6 on the week.

Fantasy football analysis

If Jacobs can’t go, Emanuel Wilson is worthy of a start. In the other game Jacobs missed, Wilson finished as RB3 after scoring twice and going over 100 yards against the Vikings. If Jacobs does start, you have to play him in fantasy. There will be a risk that leaves the game with the injury, but his upside remains great and he’s proved he can be effective while playing through the pain.
