FC Bayern has no plans on letting a key youngster leave for the likes of Chelsea or Manchester City…
The recent speculation surrounding the future of young defender Cassiano Kiala at Bayern Munich had some fans worried that the club could be on the verge of losing another prospect.
Manchester City and Chelsea were rumored to have met with the player’s entourage, while super-agent Jorge Mendes is angling to take over his contractual affairs. For Bayern Munich, though, Kiala is a key part of the future and the club has no plans on letting him walk away per Abendzeitung’s Maximilian Koch (as captured by @iMiaSanMia):
Internally, Cassiano Kiala is regarded as one of the best talents around – and there’s belief he can become a regular starter in Bayern’s central defense in the future. It’s only a matter of time before the 16-year old makes his first team debut. Despite interest from Premier League clubs, Bayern are relaxed. Kiala is under contract until 2027 and is soon expected to sign a new long-term deal.
Inking a long-term deal would, indeed, ease the concerns of fans and likely give the player some assurance that his future is solidified. However, this is just part f the journey. As Bayern Munich has learned many times over, the player has to continue to put in the work and effort to continue to develop or is this will be all for naught anyway.
