PSG have made a clear effort to prioritize elite French players in recent transfer windows, bringing in Bradley Barcola, Désiré Doué, and Lucas Chevalier as part of that strategy.
That approach is not slowing down, especially with the club looking to strengthen the defense. Liverpool center back Ibrahima Konaté has been mentioned as a possible target, though attention could turn to another high-profile option at the position.
Bayern Munich defender Dayot Upamecano has also emerged on PSG’s radar. With a contract that runs through the 2025-26 season, his situation is one the club is keeping a close eye on, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Romano added that a potential opening could arrive in the summer of 2026 if Upamecano decides against extending with Bayern, which would allow him to leave on a free transfer.

According to TZ (h/t Le10Sport), Upamecano would be willing to extend with Bayern, but only if a release clause of around €65 million is included in the contract. The clause could be activated in the second year of the deal by interested clubs.
In addition, Upamecano would like to receive a massive signing bonus. Even so, Bayern remain confident in handling the situation. PSG havebeen put on notice.

BBC Sport has reported that Upamecano, a player Real Madrid have tracked for some time, is heavily involved in discussions over a new deal with Bayern Munich. The center back is entering the final stretch of a contract that expires at the end of the summer, with interest also coming from the Premier League. Manchester United, Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea have all been linked to the 27-year-old.
