A former Detroit Lions edge rusher is signing with the Dallas Cowboys ahead of the 2025 NFL season.
Former Detroit Lions edge rusher James Houston is heading to the NFC East.
According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, Houston is signing with the Dallas Cowboys.
"The Cowboys are signing former Lions pass-rusher James Houston, who had 8 sacks as a rookie in 2022," Schultz wrote.
Houston posted a promising rookie campaign in 2022, tallying eight sacks and 17 quarterback pressures in just seven games. However, injuries and a lack of opportunity have held his career back.
After missing most of the 2023 campaign with a leg injury, Houston played eight games with the Lions in 2024 before being waived. He was claimed off waivers by the Cleveland Browns, but appeared in just three games with Cleveland.
Houston will be looking to get his career back on track in Dallas and try to make the Cowboys' roster in 2025.
