Point Spread: it’s moved a lot, but currently sits at Kansas – 15.5
Towson comes into the game ranked 142nd in KenPom’s ratings. Their defense rates higher than their offense, but neither is in the top 130 teams in D1.
Towson shoots terribly from three (28%), but doesn’t take many either, with just 35.8% of their field goals coming from beyond the arc. The main area where they excel is on the boards, ranking 39th nationally on the offensive glass, and 35th on the defensive side. They force very few turnovers, and don’t commit many fouls.
This should be a game where Kansas has a clear advantage both athletically and in terms of skill, even without Darryn Peterson, who has been ruled out tonight. Hopefully Kansas can impose their will from the beginning, and give some rotation players a little extra run.
