Eagles issue estimated injury report ahead of Commanders game

The latest news on Philadelphia and Washington.

The Philadelphia Eagles issued their first official injury report in advance of their Week 16 road game against the Washington Commanders.

Note that this report is an estimation because the team held a walkthrough in lieu of a normal practice.

The Eagles listed six players under DID NOT PARTICIPATE:Saquon Barkley, Lane Johnson, Jalen Carter, Landon Dickerson, Fred Johnson, and Cameron Latu.

Barkley is listed with a stinger. He got banged up in Week 15 but re-entered the game. Guessing the Eagles are taking it easy on him to help get him to Saturday.

A report from Sunday indicated Lane Johnson would return to practice this week. We’ll see if that’s the case over the next two days. Seems like Week 17 might be more realistic of a return date than Week 16.

Carter has missed the Eagles’ last two games and it seems like he could miss a third straight start.

The Eagles have been managing Dickerson’s practice workload. Guessing he’ll be able to play.

Fred Johnson picked up an ankle injury in practice last week but didn’t miss playing time in Week 15. Guessing he’ll be able to play against the Commanders, albeit at less than 100%.

Latu is a new addition to the injury report with a stinger. If he can’t play, the Eagles are down their top two fullback options and one of their best special teams contributors.

The Eagles listed one player under LIMITED PARTICIPATION: Tank Bigsby.

Bigsby is listed with an illness. He’ll probably be ready to play on Saturday, where he’ll be the Eagles’ top running back if Barkley can’t play.

The Eagles listed three players under FULL PARTICIPATION: Zack Baun, Jaelan Phillips, and Cameron Williams.

Baun and Phillips are listed with hand and knee injuries, respectively. They’ll be ready to play.

Williams is still in his 21-day practice window to return from injured reserve. The Eagles probably aren’t in a rush to activate him.

WASHINGTON COMMNANDERS INJURY REPORT (TUESDAY)

The Commanders listed six players under DNP. From that group, starting linebacker Bobby Wagner, starting defensive tackle Daron Payne, and veteran edge rusher Von Miller were resting. Starting left tackle Laremy Tunsil, rotational defensive tackle Eddie Goldman, and third tight end Colson Yankoff missed practice due to injury issues. Tunsil’s absence would be a big deal since he’s Washington’s best offensive lineman. Goldman, who ranks third in defensive tackle snaps for Washington, is in the concussion protocol.

The Commanders listed one player as limited: starting quarterback Jayden Daniels. The team is reportedly shutting Daniels down for the season; Marcus Mariota will be QB1 for the final three games.
