Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Featherweight Giga Chikadze suffered a brutal knockout loss to surging prospect Kevin Vallejos at UFC Vegas 112 this past weekend (Sat., Dec. 13, 2025) inside the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada (watch highlights).

Following the devastating defeat, Chikadze addressed fans with an emotional statement shared on social media.

“It’s a game of inches. Some days you’re the hammer, some days you’re the nail.
Unfortunately, last night wasn’t my day. I put in a lot of work and preparation, and I truly believed in it. I felt in great shape.

I’m sorry to my kids, my wife, and my family who sacrificed so much and went through a lot to support me. I never wanted them to see me like this.

Grateful to my team and everyone who stood by me. Everything is written by God, and I trust Him in both victory and defeat.
No doubt, I will be back again!”

Chikadze (15-6) was transported to a local hospital following the bout for precautionary scans (details).

The loss marked the first knockout defeat of Chikadze’s professional mixed martial arts (MMA) career. Now 37 years old, the Georgian striker is riding a three-fight losing streak after opening his UFC tenure with an impressive 8-1 run that included wins over Alex Caceres, Edson Barboza (watch highlights), and Cub Swanson (watch highlights).

As a result of the setback, Chikadze has been removed from the UFC’s Top 15 Featherweight rankings — a position he held continuously since 2021.
