Players from Cass Tech, Bloomfield Hills, Inter-City, Avondale and Grosse Ile are finalist for the Freep Buffalo Wild Wings Boys Athlete of the Week

It's time to vote for the Detroit Free Press Buffalo Wild Wings Boys Prep Athlete of the Week.

This week's poll features five basketball players who had standout performances during the week of Dec. 7.-13

Voting will close at noon on Friday, Dec. 19.

Here are the nominees (listed in alphabetical order by last name):

Stevie Hall, Detroit Cass Tech

The Technicians split a pair of games between Detroit Renaissance and Lansing Sexton in back-to-back-games last week. The senior guard averaged 34 points, six rebounds, five assist and four steals. He also shot 43% from the three point line and 53% from mid range.

Carter Hartfield, Bloomfield Hills

Hartfield scored 29 points and shot 67% from 3 during Bloomfield Hills' 58-53 victory over Birmingham Groves on Tuesday, Dec. 9. He also finished with nine rebounds, three assists and three steals. Bloomfield also clinched a victory against Warren Woods Towers on Friday as the junior guard finished with 14 points, seven rebounds, four assists and four steals.

Carlos Jackson, Inter-City Baptist

Inter-City won both their games last week against Detroit University Prep Art and Design and Walled Lake Northern. Jackson, a wing, had 36 points, 21 rebounds and 14 assists.

Jakobe Liford, Avondale

Liford opened up the week with a 12-point-performance against Detroit University Prep in the team's 72-28 victory on Tuesday; he also had six rebounds and five assists in the game. On Thursday, the senior forward led the Yellow Jackets to a victory over West Bloomfield, when he had 29 points, five rebounds and three assists.

Max Westerdale, Grosse Ile

The freshman guard for Grosse Ile had back-to-back high scoring performances for the Red Devils. Westerdale finished with a double-double in the team's 87-45 victory over Melvindale on Tuesday, posting 21 points and 10 rebounds. He followed that up with a 30-point performance, along with four rebounds and three assists, in the team's 53-51 loss to Riverview on Friday.
