Simply put, the Alabama Crimson Tide men's basketball program has a rich history of talent that has come through Tuscaloosa in the past.
If you need any evidence of this, just take a look at the past decade alone where the likes of Brandon Miller, Collin Sexton, and Herbert Jones, among others, have starred for the Crimson Tide, even if some of which were only for one year.
However, when looking at the overall history of the program, there have been multiple prominent names who spent numerous seasons at Alabama during their collegiate careers, and as a result, rank highly among the program's all-time statistical leaders.
A list of names who are certainly familiar to most, let's take a look at the scoring in particular, and list the Top 10 all-time leading scorers in Alabama basketball history entering the 2025-26 season.
10. Brian Williams, Guard (1996-99)
We begin this list in the late 1990's with Brian Williams, a talented guard who racked up 1,758 career points during his four seasons with the Crimson Tide from 1996-99. Williams was a one-time All-SEC selection during his time with the Crimson Tide who averaged a combined 14.4 points per game across his four seasons at Alabama, which featured a career-high of 17.3 as a senior in 1998-99.
9. Erwin Dudley, Forward (2000-03)
Alabama's most talented scorer of the early-2000's was likely Erwin Dudley, who accumulated 1,775 career points across his four seasons at Alabama from 2000-03. Dudley, the 2001-02 SEC Player of the Year, was a three-time All-SEC selection who averaged a combined 13.8 points per game during his four seasons at Alabama, headlined by his career-high of 15.2 during that aforementioned 2001-02 campaign.
8. James Robinson, Guard (1991-93)
One of the most talented guards in Alabama basketball history, James Robinson spent three seasons with the Crimson Tide from 1991-93, ending his time in Tuscaloosa with 1,813 career points. Robinson, a three-time All-SEC selection, averaged a combined 18.9 points per game during those three seasons in Tuscaloosa, headlined by a career-high 20.6 in 1992-93.
7. Jerry Harper, Center (1953-56)
You could certainly say one of Alabama's first big-time scorers came in the 1950's in Jerry Harper, a center that spent four seasons with the Crimson Tide from 1953-56 where he finished with his collegiate career with 1,861 points. A four-time All-SEC selection, Harper averaged a combined 20 points per game over his four seasons at Alabama, headlined by a career-best 23.2 in 1955-56.
6. Buck Johnson, Forward (1983-86)
Coming in the mid-1980's, Buck Johnson starred for the Crimson Tide for four seasons from 1983-86 where he finished his collegiate career with 1,869 points. A three-time All-SEC selection, Johnson averaged a combined 15.3 points per game over his four seasons at Alabama, headlined by an average of 20.7 in 1985-86, a career-high.
5. Trever Releford, Guard (2011-14)
One of Alabama's top players from the early 2010's, Trevor Releford spent four seasons with the Crimson Tide from 2011-14 in which he accumulated 1,873 career points. A three-time All-SEC selection at Alabama, Releford averaged a combined 14 points per game across his four-year Crimson Tide career, headlined by an 18.5 average during his senior season.
4. Leon Douglas, Center (1973-76)
Some of Alabama's greatest all-time scorers came during the 1970's, starting with center Leon Douglas who had a combined 1,909 career points across four seasons in Tuscaloosa from 1973-76. At Alabama, Douglas was a three-time All-SEC selection who averaged a combined 17.2 points per game in Tuscaloosa, which included two seasons with an average of 20+, headlined by a career-high 20.7 in 1974-75.
3. Eddie Phillips, Forward (1979-82)
A four-year player at Alabama from 1979-82, Eddie Phillips finished his Crimson Tide career with a combined 1,937 points. Phillips, a three-time All-SEC selection, averaged a combined 15.9 points per game across his four seasons at Alabama, headlined by a career-best 17 in 1980-81.
2. Mark Sears, Guard (2023-25)
A player who skyrocketed up the all-time leading scorers list this past season, Mark Sears ended his three-year Alabama career from 2023-25 with 1,950 points, coming close to passing the 2,000-point mark. A three-time All-SEC selection and two-time All-American, Sears averaged a combined 17.6 points per game across his three years in Tuscaloosa, headlined by a career-high 21.5 mark in 2023-24.
1. Reggie King, Forward (1976-79)
Alabama's all-time leading scorer is Reggie King, an accomplished guard during his four seasons with the Crimson Tide from 1976-79 that ended with 2,168 career points, the lone player in program history to eclipse the 2,000-point mark. King, a two-time SEC Player of the Year at Alabama in both 1977-78 and 1978-79, was a career 18.4 point per game scorer across his four seasons, headlined by averages over 20+ during both of those aforementioned years, along with a career-high 22.6 in 1978-79.
