Real Madrid angered over La Liga, RFEF’s passive stance during Laporta testimony in Negreira case

Last week saw FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta testify in court over the Negreira case, with the hearing in the matter still continuing.

The Barça chief gave his testimony, following which he was grilled by the lawyers from Real Madrid, who have appeared as private prosecutors in the case.

Real Madrid outraged over La Liga, RFEF silence

And, now, according to AS, the conduct of the lawyers representing La Liga and the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) during Laporta’s testimony as a witness before the judge investigating the Negreira Case has been the final straw for Real Madrid.

The Spanish capital club have been left outraged by the silence maintained by the two governing bodies during the Barcelona chief’s testimony.

“Their passivity reflects the lack of interest they have in getting to the bottom of the matter,” sources from Real Madrid state.

Both the RFEF and La Liga sent their legal representatives to the Ciutat de la Justicia in Barcelona.

Beatriz Seijo, an expert in Criminal Law, a member of the Galician Committee of Sports Justice and appointed by RFEF president Rafael Louzan to his Board of Directors, attended on behalf of the Federation. She did not ask any questions.

Francisco Martinez was the lawyer sent by Javier Tebas, and he asked only one question: whether it was true that the son of Enriquez Negreira accompanied referees to the Camp Nou.

The lack of action from both lawyers has caused indignation at Real Madrid, although it has not surprised them.

They understand it as the logical position following statements by the current president of the Technical Committee of Referees (CTA), Fran Soto, who said about the Negreira Case that:

“It is an issue that causes us quite a lot of damage, and the sooner it ends, the better for everyone. We have to forget it and leave it behind.”

The same feeling was conveyed by Real Madrid chief Florentino Perez earlier today, where he questioned Barcelona’s motives and lashed out at La Liga and RFEF over their passive stance on the matter.

Real Madrid do not intend to abandon the case and will remain as a private prosecutor until the courts issue a final ruling.
