Sky Sports have delivered what they believe is one theory on Enzo Maresca’s ‘intense’ situation with the Chelsea board.

Enzo Maresca’s comments after Chelsea’s win against Everton on Saturday afternoon seemed to come out of nowhere.

The Italian claimed he felt a lack of support at the club. He made it clear this wasn’t addressed to the fans, and follow up reports from insiders today have confirmed that it was aimed at figures within the club.

The Blues boss was then warned to keep his mouth shut by one pundit reviewing the comments made and says it could not end well in these situations.

A lot has been said and debated around the comments made, and everyone is going to have a different opinion on it.

And Sky Sports have put out their version of events, or what they think might be going on.

Sky say Maresca receives technical feedback from Chelsea’s football leadership team after every game and there is a massive amount of comment across the media when things are not going well.

That scrutiny is always going to be more intense when Chelsea are not winning. Maresca has a good relationship with the reporters who cover the club but there is little he can do about what former players say and what appears on social media.

One theory is that Maresca said what he said in order to protect his players and create an “us against them” mentality, according to the report.

I think that’s nonsense

No matter how much the club or Maresca might try to cover this up, the comments are CLEARLY towards the sporting directors and owners of the club.

Maresca is clearly annoyed with them for getting involved too much and questioning what he has been doing. No doubt at all in my mind.
