Son of Super Bowl champion, Georgia DL names top schools

Four-star running back recruit Brayden Tyson, the son of UGA DL Deangelo Tyson, has named Georgia among his top schools. Makes you feel old!

Four-star running back recruit Brayden Tyson has named his top eight schools. Tyson is a member of the class of 2027 and is a rising junior at Brookwood High School in Snellville, Georgia.

Snellville has produced several legendary Georgia Bulldogs over the years including defensive end David Pollack and quarterback David Greene. However, neither player attended Brookwood.

Brayden Tyson's top schools are Georgia, Texas, South Carolina, Tennessee, North Carolina, Miami, Rutgers and Florida State. The 6-foot, 235-pound running back is ranked as the No. 159 player in the class of 2027. Tyson is the No. 13 running back in the country and the No. 23 prospect in Georgia.

The elite running back prospect has recently visited Florida State, Texas, Miami and South Carolina. Tyson has a notable connection to Georgia. His father, DeAngelo Tyson, played defensive tackle at Georgia from 2008-2011. He was selected in the seventh round of the 2012 NFL draft and helped the Baltimore Ravens win Super Bowl XLVIII over the San Francisco 49ers.

Tyson could elect to blaze his own path like a couple of key Georgia legacies did in the class of 2026. Four-star linebacker Thomas Davis Jr. committed to Notre Dame and three-star edge rusher Kedric Golston II committed to Tennessee.

Coach Kirby Smart and Georgia currently have two commitments in the class of 2027, but none at running back. The Dawgs typically sign two running backs per recruiting cycle and Tyson appears to be a key target for UGA.
