The England Women’s team and Italy will vye for a place in the Euro 2025 final when they face off this evening in Switzerland.
The Lionesses came through a bruising and breathless quarter-final encounter with Sweden, ultimately coming out on top in a penalty shootout. The Italians managed to beat Scandinavian opposition in the previous round, securing a 2-1 victory over Norway to reach the last four for the first time since 1997.
Sarina Wiegman’s side are defending the European Championship title they won three years ago, with either Spain or Germany awaiting them in Sunday’s decider should they beat Italy.
This will be the 33rd meeting between the two nations, but their first in this competition since 2009, when Italy came out on top with a 2-1 group stage win. Their most recent showdown, though, saw England come away with a 5-1 friendly win just last year.
Will they live up to the favourites tag? We’ve covered everything you need to know about the clash in our match preview.
