With the MLB postseason race heating up, the week of July 21 to 27 brings playoff-level matchups, hot streaks and statement wins. Here are five games and series fans won’t want to miss.
1. Yankees @ Blue Jays (July 21–23)
One of the biggest series this week is the Yankees vs Blue Jays in Toronto. The Jays just swept the Giants and are on a 10-game home win streak, tying a franchise record. They’ve been on fire at Rogers Centre and with the AL East still up for grabs, this series matters. With so much on the line, every game in this series could be the tiebreaker.
2. Astros @ Diamondbacks (July 21–23)
Out west, the Astros head to Arizona for a three-game series that will impact both teams’ playoff hopes. Houston is fighting to stay on top in the AL West and while José Altuve hasn’t been hot lately, he’s still a big part of their offense. The Diamondbacks are hovering around .500 and in the NL Wild Card hunt. This is a must-win stretch for Arizona and facing a tough Houston team at home won’t make it easy.
3. Brewers @ Mariners (July 21–23)
In Seattle, the Mariners will host the Brewers in a series that has big MLB playoff implications. The Brewers are on a 10-game win streak after sweeping the Dodgers and are now tied with the Cubs for the NL Central lead. The Mariners are holding onto a Wild Card spot and looking to stay in the race in a tough American League. With both teams fighting for October, this should be one of the week’s best matchups.

4. Padres @ Cardinals (July 24–27)
Later in the week, the Padres head to St. Louis for a four-game series against the Cardinals. Both teams are in the Wild Card hunt but have been inconsistent. The Padres haven’t looked good since April and the Cardinals have cooled off too. So the standings are tight and both teams needing wins.
5. Dodgers @ Red Sox (July 25–27)
And finally the Dodgers head to Fenway to take on the Red Sox. Boston’s been on a 13–3 run and the Dodgers are one of the best teams in the league even if they’ve had a few hiccups. Shohei Ohtani will be a big part of it all as he’s doing damage as a hitter and pitcher. Two big teams in a historic park and it wouldn’t surprise me if this is a World Series preview.
