New York Giants WR Malik Nabers rockets into new tier ahead of 2025 NFL season

Malik Nabers will begin the 2025 NFL season with lofty expectations.

It didn't take long for New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers to prove he was a superstar during his rookie season last year.

In Week 2, Nabers totaled 10 catches for 127 yards and one touchdown, and followed it up with a productive Week 3 performance, totaling eight catches for 78 yards and two scores.

And let's not forget Week 4, when he had 12 catches for 115 yards.

Yep, Nabers officially arrived, but injuries slowed his remarkably fast start over the next few games.

Still, the 2024 first-round pick ended up setting a New York Giants single-season receiving record with 109 catches for 1,204 yards and seven scores. Incredibly, those 109 catches came in just 15 games.

Now, as Malik Nabers embarks on his second pro season, he's officially entered a tier of elite skill players reserved for the first round of fantasy football drafts.

"He’s hamstrung because of his quarterback situation, but that didn’t crush his value last year," The Athletic's Michael Salfino wrote. "Nabers was top-10 in targets in the red zone and inside the 10-yard line, where he ranked third (in percentage). He was the 10th fastest player in max speed, just a whisker above Marvin Harrison (I’m surprised he didn’t trounce Harrison). However, he won just three of 17 tight targets, a win rate that was 74th among WRs. His yards after catch were negative relative to expected. Nabers can fairly be called a volume player, but I think the targets are earned. Overall, I’m slightly below market on Nabers."

Nabers should have an even more productive season in 2025 now that he'll have a competent quarterback throwing to him. And the good news is it doesn't matter if the New York Giants' QB1 -- Russell Wilson -- gets hurt or struggles. Jameis Winston is locked and loaded as the QB2, and rookie first-round pick Jaxson Dart is waiting in the wings.

Barring injury, it feels like Nabers has the best combination of a high floor and sky-high ceiling among all the first-round fantasy receivers in 2025.

Don't hesitate to call Malik Nabers' name in the first round of your fantasy football drafts. You won't regret it.
