Stockport County have signed defender Arttu Hoskonen on a two-year deal.

Hoskonen, 28, joins the League One side after spending the last two-and-a-half seasons playing in Poland for Cravovia, scoring twice in 54 appearances.

The Finland international has won 18 caps for his country since making his debut back in 2022, and scored his only goal against England in a 2024-25 UEFA Nations League game.

Hatters manager Dave Challinor said the free-transfer signing had been met with "universal support and real excitement" around the club.

"That's huge credit to our recruitment team, who have scoured near and far to discover a profile that we think will be a great fit for us," he told the club website.

"For that player to be a full Finnish international, in his prime years, and for that to be within our budget is obviously really pleasing.

"Arttu coming to this country for the first time and showcasing his talents in a new league is something we are all looking forward to seeing."

Stockport start the new season at home to Bolton Wanderers on Sunday 3 August and Hoskonen is their fifth signings since losing to Leyton Orient in the play-offs.
