Steelers' Aaron Rodgers question enters center stage

Pittsburgh needs to know.

Aaron Rodgers dominated the offseason headlines.

But it's not the offseason anymore. Training camp is here. The 41-year old future Hall of Fame quarterback is ready to suit up with the entire Steelers roster to prepare for the season.

Pittsburgh will be holding its collective breath.

After all that: How good can Rodgers be for the Steelers?

That's what The Athletic's Mike DeFabo will be watching most closely during camp.

"Aaron Rodgers’ indecision dominated the headlines throughout the offseason," DeFabo writes. "Now that he’s finally put pen to paper, we can stop wondering when and where he’ll sign and start asking a more important question: How will he perform in the Steelers’ offense? Rodgers only participated in individual drills during the three minicamp practices he attended. That means training camp at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, Pa., will be the first glimpse of the Steelers’ newest old gunslinger. Will he play like a four-time MVP or will he look more like a 41-year-old who flirted with retirement?"

Rodgers and the Jets only went 5-12 last season. That wasn't all the quarterback's fault, but it did raise plenty of concerns.

Is Rodgers good enough to lead a contender anymore?

The Steelers give him a chance to answer that, albeit with other questions around him. There isn't an obvious No. 2 wide receiver. The running back workload is uncertain, too.

But the biggest focus will be on Rodgers and just how much he has left in the tank.
