GREEN BAY – The 2024-25 high school sports year is complete, which means it’s time to vote for some of the top players and teams from the area this past year before the 2025-26 season arrives.
This week is the boys team of the year.
You can vote for the Piggly Wiggly Press-Gazette high school boys team of the year until 3 p.m. July 26. You don't have to be a subscriber to vote.
Here are the nominees. Be sure to vote in the poll below.
Bay Port football
Won the program’s first state title with a 25-18 victory over Muskego in the WIAA Division 1 championship game.
The Pirates outgained the Warriors 397-202 in total yards, including 259-20 in the first half.
Running back Brady Moon rushed for a career-high 241 yards in the win, including an 80-yard touchdown run in the opening 14 seconds.
De Pere track and field
Won the program’s first team state title at the D1 state track and field meet. The Redbirds finished with 46 points, beating runner-up Mequon Homestead by one point.
Grady Lenn won two individual championships in the 1,600- and 3,200-meter runs. Andrew Cartier won the triple jump title for the second straight year, while fellow senior Connor Fontaine finished runner-up in both the shot put and discus.
Green Bay Notre Dame football
The Tritons pulled off a perfect season, going 14-0 and beating Waukesha Catholic Memorial 49-28 in the D2 title game.
Star running back Christian Collins rushed 39 times for 408 yards and five TDs in the victory.
It was the first time a running back has topped the 400-yard mark in any division since the WIAA started sponsoring title games in 1976. It’s the most yards in Green Bay metro history for a single game.
Green Bay Notre Dame track and field
The Tritons won the D2 team state championship for the second time and the first since 2002.
James Flanigan won both the shot and discus championships. Joseph Hunt won the 800 and was runner-up in the 1,600, while Richie Flanigan picked up important points by placing fourth in the shot put and eighth in the discus.
Seymour golf
Won a team state title for the first time in program history, capturing the D2 championship with a two-day score of 638.
