One of Clemson's star players, receiver Antonio Williams, headed to the locker room against LSU with an apparent hamstring injury.
One of Clemson’s top targets in the passing game appeared to be injured early in the first quarter against LSU. Antonio Williams was seen grabbing his hamstring as he limped to the sideline.
He briefly entered the injury tent with team personnel. Moments later, ESPN sideline reporter Holly Rowe provided an update.
“Well guys, a huge development for the Clemson Tigers,” Rowe reported. “Their most versatile wide receiver, Antonio Williams, limped off the field grabbing at his right hamstring. He’s been in the injury tent. I can see them working on that hamstring.
“This is a huge deal because he can line up everywhere on the field. He’s a big part of the Clemson offensive plan. In his place I’ve seen Tyler Brown, the redshirt sophomore, go sit on the bench with the starting wide receivers to start looking at the iPad. He’ll have to come in next for Antonio.
Antonio Williams then limped off the field and toward the locker room. On3 will provide further updates on his status when they become available.
On3 will have more on this developing story shortly.
