Kicker reports that Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Aleix Garcia’s potential move to West Ham United is off the table. The Hammers are no longer interested in signing the Bundesliga professional after bringing in Mateus Fernandes from Southampton. Whether or not Garcia will still be on the move before the transfer window closes remains to be seen,

Garcia started in both Leverkusen’s opening round Pokal fixture against SG Sonnenhof Großaspach and the Bundesliga opener against Hoffenheim. A poor performance in the matchday one league fixture didn’t lead to B04 head coach Erik Ten Hag benching the Spanish international against Bremen this weekend. Garcia remained in the starting XI.

Garcia has seen his estimated market value decline slightly from €25m to €20m since joining Germany’s red company team a little over a year ago. The five-times-capped international scored five goals and registered four assists in 41 appearances across all competitions under Xabi Alonso last season. Thus far this year, he’s already collected one assist in the Pokal.
