Chelsea have reached a full agreement with Brighton to sign Facundo Buonanotte on a season loan according to David Ornstein.
Buonanotte emerged as a surprise target for Chelsea on Friday, and a deal for the 20-year-old has really accelerated.
Chelsea reached an agreement for Alejandro Garnacho earlier this week, and were expected to sign Xavi Simons, but he opted to join Tottenham after the Blues didn’t make a bid.

The Blues were linked with Barcelona’s Fermin Lopez, but it appears that deal won’t happen, but there search for a fifth attacker appears to be over.
Buonanotte has been identified as the player Chelsea want, and Ornstein has now provided an update on the situation.

He took to X.com and said:
“Chelsea reach full agreement with Brighton & Hove Albion to sign Facundo Buonanotte on season-long loan.
“20yo left-footed right winger joining #CFC from #BHAFC for 25-26 campaign; no option to make Argentina international’s move permanent.”
Buonanotte joined Brighton in January 2023 and has made 50 appearances to date for the Seagulls, but spent last season on loan at Leicester.
The Argentine made 35 appearances in all competitions for the Foxes as they suffered relegation, but he managed six goals and three assists.
Buonanotte is set to provide cover at both number ten and right wing, but how much he’s going to play remains unclear.
Chelsea still trying to move Nicolas Jackson on
Whilst Buonanotte is on his way in, Chelsea are still trying to move Nicolas Jackson on, but have been unsuccessful so far.

Jackson is attracting interest from a number of clubs and is reportedly close to joining Bayern Munich on a loan deal.
However, the deal isn’t finalised and Chelsea are wanting an obligation to buy included and not an option, which Bayern appear reluctant to agree to, so it will be interesting to see how it pans out.
