BY THE NUMBERS: Previewing Kentucky vs. Toledo

0 – Starters returning in the front seven of the Toledo defense.

2nd – Meeting between the Wildcats and Rockets on the gridiron. Kentucky won 38-24 in the 2019 season opener at Kroger Field. The game was tied 14-14 at halftime. Terry Wilson threw two touchdown passes, while AJ Rose and Kavosiey Smoke each ran for a TD in the Cats’ victory.

2 – Former Cats on the Toledo roster: running backs Chip Trayanum and Michael Drennen.

2-4 – Toledo’s all-time record against SEC schools. The Rockets defeated Mississippi State 41-17 last season in Starkville, Miss.

3 – Kentucky running backs — Dante Dowdell (Nebraska), Seth McGowan (New Mexico State), and Jamarion Wilcox (UK) — led their teams in rushing last season.

4 – Sets of brothers on the UK roster: sets of brothers on its roster in Justin and Josh Kattus, David and Devon Gusta, twins Jerod and Jacob Smith, and Tavion Gadson and Lorenzo Cowan. Only Illinois (5) has more siblings on the roster.

7th – Season of college football for UK quartebrack Zach Calzada, who previously played at Texas A&M, Auburn, and Incarnate Word of the FCS level. He has thrown for 8,707 yards and 73 touchdowns in his career.

13th – Season at UK for Mark Stoops. He is the dean of SEC coaches.

16 – Former Rockets on NFL rosters, headlined by the Kansas City Chiefs’ Kareem Hunt.

27 – Kentucky punter/holder Wilson Berry is the fifth-oldest player in college football. He was born on June 8, 1998.

73-40 – Jason Candle’s record as head coach at Toledo. He needs one win to pass Gary Pinkel and become the program’s all-time winningest coach.

166 – Career starts for UK’s projected starting offensive line, which is the third most among FBS programs.

2009 – The last time Toledo had a losing season. It’s the third-longest streak in FBS behind only Boise State (27) and Alabama (17).
