In the event Kobbie Mainoo opted to part ways with Manchester United to embark on a new venture in the Premier League, he wouldn’t be short of suitors.

Such an occurrence taking place is possible in the dying embers of the window, with numerous outlets, including the ever-reliable David Ornstein, verifying that Mainoo is indeed considering a late transfer away from Old Trafford.

It’s pretty unfathomable for the United faithful to register, given he was scoring what would turn out to be the winning goal in the FA Cup final for the club only 15 months ago. Remarkably, Alejandro Garnacho netted the opener that day, and he agreed a long-term deal to join Chelsea last night.

If the pair’s exits do materialise before Monday, they’ll join Marcus Rashford and Scott McTominay as Carrington graduates who’ve been offloaded by United over the last year.

With how much the club pride themselves on their integration and development of youth/homegrown talents, it has become an area of concern for fans to see the players cut ties and, in some cases, be exiled and pushed out the door.

Who’s interested in Mainoo?

Nonetheless, it’s thought Mainoo has attracted interest across the continent since his uncertain situation was made public.

Chelsea are longtime admirers of the 20-year-old, who’s already earned 10 senior England caps, and Tottenham Hotspur made an enquiry over his availability earlier this summer. If he wanted to ply his trade abroad for the first time in his career, Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid are both keen on taking him on season-long loans.

Now, a new suitor has joined the race. Everton News claims the Toffees would like to try their chances against some of the other goliath teams amid David Moyes’ quest to sign a midfielder; the Blues just had a bid rejected for West Ham’s Thomas Soucek and remain actively scouring the market for suitable options.

“Everton are one of the teams who are keen on Mainoo and are certainly going to be in the mix, but there are so many sides keen,” the outlet writes.

“Mainoo’s camp are considering their options but the suggestion he has rejected clubs not in Europe or in Europe over England is being downplayed by his people. He is going to take his time. If he gets the chance to move, United are willing to do a deal but let’s see how it plays out.”
